Wachau · Rieden — **Ried level.** The Wachau's single vineyards along the Danube, from Dürnstein down to Loiben.

Weissenkirchen is more balanced overall than its neighbours — more generous in fruit than Spitz, more focused than the opulent eastern styles. Its soils are mica schist and paragneiss, and the lower, east-facing vineyards contain sandy loess.

Achleiten

Achleiten is west-facing and extends from about 200 to 400 m, its soils ranging from mica schist to Gföhl gneiss. GV and Riesling here show a petrichor minerality called Stinkerl. Its producers are Prager, whose GV comes from a Stockkultur parcel, Rudi Pichler, Jäger, Domäne Wachau and Josef Jamek.

Klaus

Klaus is Gföhl gneiss, worked by Prager for Riesling, Jäger for GV, and Jamek.
