What we collect

• Account: your email address, and a nickname if you choose one. A password, stored only as a hash.
• Profile (optional): anything you choose to add — a short bio, certifications, awards, links, an avatar. You control whether your profile is public.
• Your study data: notes, highlights, flags, saved quizzes and review history, your language preference and reading position.
• Technical: server logs with IP address and browser type, kept for security and troubleshooting.
• We do not collect card or bank details. Payment data is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy and the payment processors it uses; all that reaches us is the card brand and the last four digits.

Why

To give you an account and keep your work in sync (performance of our contract with you); to keep the service secure and working (legitimate interests); to meet tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation); to send service email such as receipts and notices of changes.

Who else processes it

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
• Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery and protection against abuse.
• Lemon Squeezy — payment, invoicing and tax, as Merchant of Record. Their privacy notice describes them as a data controller and/or processor for what you give them at checkout; please read it for how they handle payment data.
• OpenAI — used only when you ask for an on-demand translation of a passage; the passage is sent for translation and is not used to train models.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

International transfers. These providers operate outside the Republic of Korea, including in the United States and the European Union, so your data is transferred there under the safeguards those providers offer.

How long we keep it. Account and study data are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, they are deleted; backups age out within 30 days. Transaction records are kept as long as tax law requires.

Your rights. You can see, correct, export or delete your data. Deleting your account from Settings → Account does all of it at once. To ask about anything else, write to support@yourownwineencyclopedia.com. Korean users may also complain to the Personal Information Protection Commission (privacy.go.kr, 국번없이 182).

Cookies. We use cookies and local storage only to keep you signed in and to remember your reading position and preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Lemon Squeezy sets its own essential cookies during checkout.

Children. The service is not intended for children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes. We will post any change here and, if it is material, tell you by email.
