Cancellation and refunds
Last updated: 6 September 2026
Cancelling a subscription. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and nothing further is charged. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period. You can resume a cancelled subscription at any time before it ends, on the same plan and at the rate that applies to it at that point.
Deleting your account. Deleting your account is different from cancelling. It cancels your subscription immediately — the remainder of the paid period ends with the account and is not carried over or refunded, and your notes and other data are permanently deleted. If you want to use the time you have already paid for, cancel the subscription instead and delete the account later.
Refunds. Subscription payments are not refundable. The moment your payment completes, the entire encyclopedia is unlocked and can be read, searched, printed and exported in full. There is no partial delivery to withdraw from, so we cannot take the material back once it has been opened — and you are asked to agree to this at checkout, before you pay.
Try it before you pay. You do not have to subscribe to see what you are buying. Without an account, and at no cost, you can read the opening sections of every regional chapter and several chapters in full. Please use that preview to decide.
- Renewals. A renewal is not refunded once the new period has begun. We email you before an annual subscription renews, and you can cancel at any time beforehand — cancelling before the renewal date means you are not charged at all.
- Your statutory rights. Nothing here removes rights you have by law. Consumer law in many countries gives a short right of withdrawal on digital purchases, and in most of them that right does not survive your starting to use the content once you have agreed to waive it — which is what the checkout confirmation covers. Where the law of your country gives you a stronger right than this policy, that right applies and we will honour it.
- If something goes wrong on our side. An extended outage, or material you paid for that we withdrew — write to us and we will put it right, whatever the date.
- If we close your account without cause, we refund the unused part of the period.
How to ask. Payments are taken by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record, but refund requests are handled by us — their published guidance tells buyers to contact the original seller first. Email support@yourownwineencyclopedia.com from the address your subscription is under, so that we can find it.
