Terms of Service

1. Who we are. This service is operated by 주식회사 피디티 (PDT Co., Ltd.), a company registered in the Republic of Korea. Our business details are set out on the Business information page.

2. The service. We provide an online reference work on wine ("the Encyclopedia") and related study tools, delivered through this website. We add to and revise the Encyclopedia continuously.

3. Accounts. You need an account to read the full Encyclopedia. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. One account is for one person. Sharing an account, or using automated means to copy the Encyclopedia in bulk, may result in suspension.

4. Subscriptions and payment. Paid plans are set out on the Subscription page. Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record; your purchase contract for the transaction is with Lemon Squeezy, and payment, invoicing and tax are handled by them. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, at the rate that applied when you subscribed. A Founding Member rate is an introductory rate and applies to your first billing period only — the first month on a monthly plan, or the first year on an annual plan; after that the subscription renews at the standard rate shown on the Subscription page.

5. Price changes. We will not change the price of a subscription that is already running. If we change our published prices, the new price applies to new subscriptions, and to yours only if it lapses and you subscribe again. Any change to this will be notified in advance by email.

6. Cancellation and refunds. See the Cancellation and refunds page, which forms part of these terms.

7. Content and intellectual property. The text, maps, illustrations and data in the Encyclopedia are our property or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright. Your subscription is a licence to read and study, not a transfer of ownership. You may print or export material for your own study. You may not republish, redistribute, resell or use it to train machine-learning systems.

8. Your notes. Notes, highlights and quizzes you create stay yours. We do not publish them and we do not sell them. If you delete your account, they are deleted with it.

9. Accuracy. The Encyclopedia is a study aid compiled from published sources and is provided in good faith, but wine law, appellation boundaries and classifications change. We do not warrant that every statement is current or error-free, and it is not professional advice. Please report anything that looks wrong — there is a report button on every chapter.

10. Availability. We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may take it down for maintenance.

11. Suspension. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, in particular clauses 3 and 7. Where we do so without cause, we will refund the unused part of a paid period.

12. Liability. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

13. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court shall be the court of first instance, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where you live.

14. Changes. We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app at least 7 days in advance, and 30 days in advance where the change is unfavourable to you.
